Agri SA kondig direksie aan tydens sy 2020-kongres | Agri SA announces Board at the 2020 Congress

Agri SA het die direksielede wat tydens die 2020-kongres verkies is gelukgewens. Die direksie is verteenwoordigend van die landbouwaardeketting as geheel, insluitend Agri SA se provinsiale affiliasies, bedryfsorganisasies en korporatiewe lede.
“Covid-19 het vernietiging onder menige sektore en veral die ekonomie gesaai, maar dit het ook aan die landbousektor en -waardeketting ‘n geleentheid gebied om te presteer en voedsel aan Suid-Afrikaners te voorsien en om steeds ‘n groot aantal produkte aan verskeie internasionale markte te lewer. Teen 15%, was die landbou ook die enigste sektor wat tydens die inperking gegroei het, wat weereens die belangrikheid van die bedryf en sy bedrae tot die ekonomie, asook sy deursettingsvermoë, bevestig het,” sê Pierre Vercueil.
Tydens die kongres is Pierre Vercueil as Agri SA se president verkies. “Ek is opgewonde! Met die hulp van die nuut-verkose direksie, sal ons verskeie aangeleenthede wat van belang is vir boere, aanspreek. Ek maak staat op ons lede-organisasies om saam met ons te werk ten einde die nodige sukses te behaal.”
Pierre is ‘n graan- en veeboer in die Noord-Wes provinsie. Hy is ‘n voormalige president van Agri Noord-Wes wat oor die jare op verskeie direksies gedien het en bring met hom saam waardevolle leierskapservaring.

“Die tema van die 2020-kongres was “Landbou: ‘n Integrale deel van die ekonomiese waardeketting, wat aanpas by en bou vir ‘n nuwe toekoms,” sê Christo van der Rheede, Agri SA se Uitvoerende Direkteur. “Verskeie sprekers het nuwe insigte gebring wat ons in ag kan neem met ons werk in die toekoms. Woensdag het ons gesien hoeveel werk reeds gedoen is deur ons sentra van uitnemendheid en kamers namens Agri SA se lede. Ek is opgewonde en sien uit daarna om met die direksie saam te werk ten einde ‘n gunstige omgewing vir ons boere en plaaswerkers te skep sodat hulle kan voortgaan met hul belangrike werk om voedsel vir ons nasie te produseer en nasionale stabiliteit te verseker.”

Agri SA congratulates the members of its Board who have been elected at the 2020 Congress. The Board is representative of the entire agricultural value chain, including Agri SA’s provincial affiliates, commodity organisations and corporate members.
“Covid-19 brough destruction to many sectors and especially the economy, but it afforded the agricultural sector and value chain to shine and provide food to the citizens of South Africa and still managed to export many products to various international markets. It is also the only sector that grew during this period, with 15%, showing again the importance of agriculture and its contribution to the economy. This shows the resilience of our sector” said Pierre Vercueil.
During the congress Pierre Vercueil was elected as Agri SA President. “I’m excited! With the assistance of the newly elected Board we will tackle various issues of importance to farmers. I rely on all our member organisations to work with us to achieve the necessary success”.
Pierre is a grain and livestock farmer from the North West province. He is a former president of Agri North West and served on may boards over time and bring valuable experience as a leader.
