Toyota New Harvest Competition 2021

The good news is that the Toyota New Harvest competition will be running in 2021 after it was interrupted in 2020 by the Covid-19 restrictions! This is thus the 13th year that the competition is being held.

The objective of this competition is:

1)  to identify and reward the most successful previously disadvantaged (black/coloured/Indian) farmer in South Africa, and;

2)  to give recognition to those people/institutions/organisations/agencies that are involved in the development of new farmers.

In this regard Toyota SA is sponsoring the winning farmer with a new Toyota Hilux bakkie while the winning developing institution will be awarded with a cash prize of R10,000 (that should preferably be spent on the further development of such farmers).

The New Harvest competition is aimed at individuals who have owned or operated/managed a farm for five years and longer and who overcame a previously disadvantaged background to become a successful farmer.

Candidates must complete Section A of the attached entry form where after Kwanalu must complete Section B, then scan both (filled/completed) forms, and email it to cvdwesth@cut.ac.za or carluvdw@gmail.com.

Your Kwanalu contact is – Lindelwa Ndaba at development@kwanalu.co.za, OR call 033-3429393.

The entry requirements, procedure and adjudication criteria are included in the entry form – please read it carefully.  Also remember that previous entrants/finalists may enter the competition again (but not previous winners). Adjudication of finalists will take place between 27 September and 8 October 2021 and the winner will be announced at a function in Gauteng on 18 November 2021 (venue to be confirmed).

I am looking forward in receiving your entry/entries before or on Monday, 6 September 2021.
