All parties are invited to submit written representations concerning possible adjustments to the NMW. These will be considered by the NMW Commission before it publishes its annual report and recommendations on the annual review of the NMW later in 2026.

In preparation for an informed written submission Kwanalu will again be undertaking a survey to ensure a fact based and carefully considered input.  The submission will be utilised to lobby and influence the commission before making any recommendations on the NMW.

Factors considered by the commission which out to be considered when making representations include:

• Inflation
• The cost of living and the need to retain the value of the minimum wage
• Wage levels and collective bargaining outcomes (if there is a collective bargaining process in place)
• Gross domestic product
• The ability of employers to carry on their business successfully
• The operation of small, medium or or micro-enterprises and new enterprises and
• The impact of employment or the creation of jobs

Kwanalu’s previous inputs and comments to the NMW have been significant and well considered, our annual survey also provides us with valuable comparative facts.. Please feel free to add any supporting information to strengthen the inputs to the Commission.
